The 2011 Silicon Valley Kid’s Triathlon

I had the honor yesterday of timing the annual Silicon Valley Kid’s Triathlon. What an event it was! 1,000 kids strong, it’s the largest kid’s triathlon in the entire USA. The energy was great as the kids swam, cycled and ran around the track at De Anza College. Best of all, the uncharacteristic June rain held off so that it was dry during the event.

Our video from the event:

It was an amazing morning at the PEKT

The Positive Energy Kids Triathlon on Sunday was, in one word, awesome.
The weather? Perfect.
The volunteers? Plenty, cheering and enthusiastic.
The athletes? Smiling the whole time.
The crowd? Supportive.
The medals? very cool.
The pool? The perfect temperature.

It was a great day. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the video below is worth… a million?

Kids, Are You Ready?!

The 5th Annual Positive Energy Kids Triathlon is this Sunday. It’s one of my favorite events of the year. . . the atmosphere is calm, the kids are ALL SMILES, and it’s super rewarding to see just how excited and happy the kids are… and how proud they are of themselves when they finish. Plus, two of my own kids are participating. They could not be more excited!! Every day they ask if “tomorrow is the kid’s triathlon.” It’ll be my daughter’s fourth tri and my 3 year old son’s first.

If you haven’t registered yet, it’s not sold out, so you can still sign up at Packet Pick Up on Saturday afternoon at Arroyo Park from 2-5 PM, or on race morning. I suggest coming by on Saturday – it’ll save you $5.00 plus the extra stress of trying to do it race day.

The participant confirmation letter is posted here on our website for your convenience.
Hope you can join us!
